چکیده
Aim: Comparison of proximal femoral nail versus dynamic condylar screw in treating reverse oblique intertrochanteric fractures. Study Design: Retrospective study Place and duration study: CMH Kharian, Allama Iqbal International Hospital Kharian Madni Gujrat from 1st January 2020 to 31st December 2022. Methodology: Sixty five patients who had suffered fractures were either treated through or by included. Patients with placed group 1 while those 2. The comparative outcomes between both groups than analyzed documented a well-structured questionnaire. Results: There was no significant variance the mean age (proximal nail) 2 (dynamic screw) value as 65.53±3.1 59.35±3.2 years respectively. more females males however variance. Non-union implant breakage observed cases 5/32 PFN 2/33 respectively; p difference. fixation revision required 5case failure it nail. rate infection higher patients. Practical Implication: advantage open reduction over closed reduction. Proximal presented be better option for Conclusion:A high non-union is cases.Proximal Femoral Fractures Keywords: Intertrochanteric, Intramedullary, Femur, Reverse Oblique

Type II Intertrochanteric Fractures: Proximal Femoral Nailing (PFN) Versus Dynamic Hip Screw(DHS)
Background: Intertrochanteric fracture is one of the most common fractures of the hip especially in the elderly with osteoporotic bones, usually due to low-energy trauma like simple falls. Dynamic Hip Screw (DHS) is still considered the gold standard for treating intertrochanteric fractures by many. Not many studies compare the DHS with Proximal femoral nail (PFN), in Type II intertrochanteri...

PURPOSE To compare the outcome in patients who underwent surgery for unstable intertrochanteric femoral fractures using the proximal femoral locking plate versus the dynamic hip screw (DHS). METHODS 15 men and 5 women aged 32 to 78 (mean, 55) years were randomised to the proximal femoral locking plate group, whereas 14 men and 6 women aged 38 to 75 (mean, 59) years were randomised to the conv...

BACKGROUND The aim of this meta-analysis was to compare the outcomes of proximal femoral nail (PFN) and dynamic hip screw (DHS) in treatment of intertrochanteric fractures. MATERIAL AND METHODS Relevant randomized or quasi-randomized controlled studies comparing the effects of PFN and DHS were searched for following the requirements of the Cochrane Library Handbook. Six eligible studies invol...
